Toile de Jouy-style Pastoral Scene House

NZ$59

NZ$59.00 Medium: Mixed Media Dimensions: 8 × 12 × 8 cm This small candle house is finished with a blue-and-white toile-style serviette design, wrapping the little form in a detailed pastoral scene of trees, buildings, animals and figures. The traditional printed imagery gives it the character of an old storybook illustration. The irregular windows are pierced through the front of the house, allowing candlelight to show through the scene from within. Cast in plaster and individually finished, it retains the textured, handmade surface and small variations that make each piece individual. At 12 cm high, it is an intimate piece for a shelf, bedside table or quiet corner the house comes with a small electric flicker candle.
