DIY Aged Vessels - Textured Paint - Faux Rust & Antiquing Effects In this video, I add a textured paint and faux rust antiquing effect to a glass balloon vase (pink), that I got from Spotlight in the reduced-to-clear bin with wonderful results So easy and I am thrilled with how it looks, I am looking forward to doing another faux rust vessel.
Baking Soda Vinegar Pthalo Green - Atelier White Paint - Atelier Orange Paint - generic brant Gold embossing powder Pthalo Green - Liquitex Inks Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold - Golden Fluid Acrylics (discontinued see link below for mix) Gloss Varnish - British Paints Varnish made from Polystyrene
Added a layer of baking soda paint to cover vessel
Added another thinker mix more blobby layer
Sprinkles with baking soda and sprayed with vinegar
Once dry added embossing powder to areas, particually large deep cracks
Went over with layer of paint sponging it on, trying to leave embossed areas showing
Add added orange paint and embossing power
Once dry sealed with varnish
I then went over with a high gloss polystryene varnish I made to see what how it acted.
